Successful Venacavoplasty and Venoplasty for Chronic Deep Vein Thrombosis
A 22-year-old male patient suffering from bilateral chronic deep vein thrombosis, pelvic vein thrombosis, and infra-renal inferior vena cava thrombosis due to hyperhomocysteinemia underwent a meticulously planned treatment under the expertise of Dr. Harivadan Lukka.
Initially placed on oral anticoagulants for six months, the patient showed persistent venous obstruction in a repeat CT venogram, leading to the decision for an advanced venacavoplasty and venoplasty procedure. On April 7th, he successfully underwent infra-renal venacavoplasty and venoplasty with six stents.
The procedure was a resounding success, with the patient recovering well post-surgery and being discharged on the fourth day while continuing anticoagulant therapy. His follow-ups on April 15th and today confirm his excellent progress. This case highlights the precision and advanced treatment strategies in vascular surgery, ensuring improved quality of life for the patient.

A 30-year-old male patient from Kakinada presented with severe gangrene in both lower limbs, facing the risk of amputation and life-threatening complications. A 37-year-old male construction worker sustained a left leg fracture after falling from a height at a construction site. He underwent plating with screws, but during the post-operative period, he developed extensive deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombosis.
Utilizing the latest AngioJet technology, our team successfully removed entire blood clots from the left leg up to the kidney level in just 12 minutes. The procedure was scarless, and the patient, who underwent surgery a week ago, is now walking without any difficulty—even reaching the third floor unassisted.
This case marks a significant milestone as the first major post-COVID lockdown surgery, showcasing the power of advanced vascular treatments in ensuring quick and effective recovery.
Life-Changing Peripheral Angioplasty – 72-Year-Old Patient Walks Again
A 72-year-old female patient came to us in March with severe gangrene in both feet. She was unable to walk and had to be brought in a wheelchair.
Our team performed a peripheral angioplasty, using balloon-assisted blood vessel opening to restore circulation to both feet. The transformation has been remarkable—she recently visited our outpatient clinic on the second floor, climbing all the stairs effortlessly!
